You're starting to cough. Beginning to feel a little fatigued. A cold is coming on. You reach into the cabinet and grab for an Airborne tablet to revive your spirits and whisk your cold away.
Not so fast.
According an article on cbsnews.com, the Federal Trade Commission announced that "there is no evidence that products from Airborne Health Inc. provide any tangible benefit for people who are exposed to germs in crowded places."
The FTC believed that this product is such a scam that they filed a lawsuit against the Florida based company stating that they made false claims about the product's cold-fighting benefits.
Just last week the makers of Airborne agreed to pay $30 million to settle the lawsuit and in the future cannot make false claims about their products.
Well, I probably could have told the FTC that. I wonder about all of those other cold remedies out there, I think to myself as I cough on to my key board...
